ADDRESS SIGN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Your custom sign kit has been designed for do-it-yourself installation. Please take the time to read all instructions so that you are able to assemble each part as illustrated.
This device can be installed by anyone who is familiar with simple tools and able to follow written instructions.

Your custom LED sign is an indoor/outdoor low voltage illuminated sign that is always on.  It is designed to provide many years of reliable and elegant low voltage illumination, at an electricity cost of less than $1 per year.

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

Every season you should clean the acrylic plate to ensure the sign’s optimal visibility.  You must clean the acrylic plate using only warm soapy water.  DO NOT USE Windex, Bleach, Ammonia, Rubbing Alcohol, Vinegar, or any other cleaning agent on the acrylic plate.  Anything other than warm soapy water may cause the acrylic plate to haze or may remove the UV protective layer.  Using any cleaning agent other than warm soapy water to clean your acrylic plate will void your warranty.

The exterior of the LED mounting base should also be cleaned as required with warm soapy water to remove dirt and grime build-up that may accumulate.  The interior of the LED mounting base should never need to be cleaned.

LED MOUNTING BASE INSTALLATION

Your address sign should be mounted on a relatively flat surface.   Use the LED mounting base as a template to select the mounting location for the device, allowing for easy visibility and close proximity to power.

1. Mark the screw holes and note the wire location.
2. If the wire is going to be hidden inside an exterior wall, also drill a 1/4” wire hole to feed the wire behind the wall. 
3. If mounting onto a surface that requires anchors, use a 1/4” drill bit to pre-drill the plastic anchor holes and insert the plastic anchors.
4. Feed the wire through the drilled wire hole, or place it off to one side of the sign.
5. Screw the LED base firmly to the desired location using the mounting screws.

Once the LED base is firmly mounted to the desired location, remove the acrylic plate from the protective packaging. Proceed to directions on the other side of this sheet to mount your acrylic plate.

MOUNTING THE ACRYLIC PLATE
(without a contrast plate)

1. Locate the two plate mounting bolts.
2. Slide the acrylic plate into the LED mounting base.
3. Align the acrylic plate mounting holes with the holes in the LED mounting base.
4. Insert the female plate mounting posts from inside the LED mounting base to hold the acrylic plate in place. 
5. Tighten the male plate mounting screws with a flat screwdriver.  See illustration 1.
6. Do not over-tighten the mounting screws.

CONNECTING POWER TO YOUR SIGN

The transformer has two terminals, designated as positive (+) and negative (-).  The LED mounting base has two color coded wires red (+) and black (-).

1. Locate the black (negative) wire running to the LED mounting base and connect it to the negative (-) terminal on the transformer.
2. Locate the red (positive) wire running to the LED  mounting base and connect it to the positive (+) terminal on the transformer.
3. Tighten each terminal with a Philips (star) or flat screwdriver. Do not over-tighten the terminals.
4. Plug the transformer into a regular household outlet.  The LED sign will turn on if properly installed. NOTE: Do not use a timer or on/off switch. This is actually less energy efficient than 24/7 operation.
5. If installing the transformer into a ceiling garage outlet, remove the screw for the A/C outlet cover, plug transformer into outlet, insert the A/C outlet cover screw through the hole in the transformer and tighten to ensure the transformer is held securely.
6. NOTE: If the sign does not turn on immediately, check to ensure the wires are connected to the proper terminals on the transformer.

CONTRAST PLATE INSTALLATION

If you’ve ordered a contrast plate with your sign, follow the instructions below to install both the acrylic plate and contrast plate simultaneously.

• Locate the two black plate mounting bolts. 
• Insert the clear acrylic plate into the LED mounting base. 
• Hold the acrylic plate in place, and then position the contrast plate behind the acrylic plate and black LED mounting base. Insert the female mounting posts from inside the base. See illustration 2.
• With the female plate mounting posts inserted, insert the male plate mounting screws and tighten with a flat screwdriver. See illustration 3.
• Do not over-tighten the mounting screws.
